" On 28th of June 2011 in ‘City Crocus’ in ‘Akwaruim’ hotel (Moscow – Russia) I Selfdefence and Safety Acadamy Cup in armwrestling. It was interesting sport event, which we can’t often watch in Russia’s capital. Many of well known athletes from Russian armwrestling performed, pool amounted 60 thousands roubles. Pretty good contest for one of the leading competitors ended with a tragedy. Unfortunately Andrey Antonov broke right hand biceps. Nothing had called for coming disaster – as Andrey said – until fighting with Wania Matuszenko. “Then I felt like something dragged away from mi biceps”. Pain wasn’t hard and I decided to continue the fight for victory. I Bravely went to fighting with Roman Filipov and here came the worst moment I could only imagine. Roman had started quickly and my biceps couldn’t stand it. In the moment my arm came away, I broke my biceps’ joint. Pain was too hard. I was conducted to hall and then transported to Academy for surgery. It run in general anaesthesia. It was important to slit arm to sew a transplant and then sew everything back. Finally I had to stay three days in hospital.” Andrey Anonov had left hospital already, but unfortunately his right arm will stay in plaster for 3 weeks. He’s also waiting for three months long rehabilitation. Only then we would be able to do light training. Well, what a pitty, Andrey won’t come in Russian national team complement for NEMIROFF WORLD CUP 2011. We remember, when last year, preparing for World Cup, Andriej had problems with heart, what also hadn’t let him to take part in Nemiroff World Cup, and in 2005 Andrey Antonov became silver medallist in open category of World Cup – in that semi final he had defeated John Brzenk. We wish him a speedy recovery.. "

Din ce am vazut pana acu , toti care intra in pozitia asta isi rup mainile , cel mai probabil din cauza ca nu isi aduc umarul la nivelul bratului ... Explicatiile pentru accidentari si metodele de prevenire sunt rezumate destul de bine si pe wikipedia: Arm wrestling - Associated Injury" Arm wrestling puts enormous torque/twist on the upper arm's humerus bone to a degree seen in few other physical activities.[3] Most people's bones are not accustomed to being significantly stressed in this direction, and injuries can occur surprisingly easily. The arm typically fails because of a diagonal break at or below the midpoint between the shoulder and the elbow. The natural tendency of an inexperienced arm wrestler is to push the hand, wrist, and shoulder in the same coordinated direction, against the force being applied by the opponent.[citation needed] This is how we throw a baseball or hit a tennis ball. However, turning one's shoulder this way simply adds to the torque already being applied to the humerus by the opponent. US Arm Sports advises of the danger of "letting your shoulder get inside your hand." It is better to pivot your shoulders so that you never look away from your hand.[citation needed] If the tendons and ligaments are too weak to support the pressure, the muscles can cause a complete tendon blow (pop). However, tendons can be strengthened with many methods. When tendons are in pain, they require blood so they can heal faster. Doctors and arm wrestlers recommend doing rehab (training/therapy, exercising with light weights and many repetitions for 30 – 45 minutes non-stop to pump the blood into arms). Tendons can get bigger with time, although it can be a slow process.[citation needed] Experienced arm wrestlers may have tendons 2 - 4 times bigger than average people.[citation needed] "
" The contestant on the right is in an injury-prone or "break arm" position. His shoulder must be in line with or behind the arm, as seen with the contestant on the left. This is cause for a referee to stop the match. "
