hello everybody, i have been arm wrestling since 12years of age . now 36years old. i have arm wrestled with lot of friends ,relatives and strangers. i even had arguments with the opponents before matches . but in general win or lose , i will be a good friend of him after the match. i think that is the specialty of arm wrestling as a sports .not sure how a boxer or wrestler feels about his opponent.
arm wrestling with enemies is one thing i have not even dreamed about... IMO arm wrestling is for making friends rather than a life style [as some people claims]. arm wrestling is a fun ...if you lose the fun in aw dont armwrestle in my point of view. let us share ur thoughts in this issue ...

My personal opinion on the matter is that there are fewer people practicing this sport (unlike the other sports you mentioned) ... thus, like it or not, you have to make friends so you have sparring partners (mutual benefits) and someone to talk about the sport you love (other people grow bored really fast with it).

I think that many armwrestlers practice this sport just for fun. It is a nice way to get together with your friends. Some are playing poker, some are playing football, but i prefer to armwrestle with my friends (when I have time).

In sport, term "enemy" dosent exist, you have opponents. To practice with a declared enemy is not a good ideea, becouse of the vanity you dont want to loose so there are big chances to injure you or your opponent. Practice with your frends is a good ideea and can be fun also. The best situation is to find good armwrestlers with the same goals as you and get frendly with them and to have a relation based on mutual respect.

it is interesting that majority of armwrestlers are friends . and armwrestling creates many new friendships .... anybody thinks that players of other action sports are also having same feelings about their opponents ....?

Well I don't think you can actually call a friend a person who has just wiped the floors with you (K1 for instance) ;D
